Press release: NHS Confederation welcomes new social care concordat
10 Dec 2007
Commenting on the Concordat, Gill Morgan, Chief Executive of the NHS Confederation which represents over 95 per cent of NHS organisations, said:
"We welcome this Concordat and are glad to be co-signatories. The common goal of creating a system of adult social care fit for the 21st century requires a common vision with all providers properly engaged and working together.
"We know from experience that we must be clear on the overarching principles of what we want to achieve so that both the public and frontline staff can understand and 'buy-into' the changes that will need to be made."
"We look forward to working with the other signatories of this concordat to flesh out a vision of adult social care services that ensures services maintain the highest standards of dignity and respect for everyone, irrespective of illness or disability."
