Commenting Deafblind UK's survey on deafblind people's experience of the NHS, David Stout, Director of the NHS Confederation PCT Network which represents the majority of primary care trusts, said:
"I welcome this report, it is clear that improvements have been made but we need to ensure that our services are able to adequately meet the needs of patients. Building this into training, factoring in proper practice and procedures with a clear means of making complaints is absolutely the right way to go with this.
"I am sure the wider NHS will also welcome this report and we look forward to using their work and others to continue to provide better quality services for all patients."
The PCT Network represents the majority of primary care trusts in England. It was established in December 2006 to provide a distinct voice for PCTs. The Network is part of the NHS Confederation;
