Press release: NHS Confederation comments on Conservatives' public services policy improvement group report
04 Sep 2007
Commenting on the report, Gill Morgan, Chief Executive of the NHS Confederation, which represents over 95% of the organisations that make up the NHS, said:
"We warmly welcome the report. There is much to praise - especially in relation to leaving central government to set the overall framework and allowing health professionals to innovate and improve services in a context of local accountability and transparency.
"The report covers a range of other issues but from the Confederation's view it is also pleasing to see a real emphasis on tackling health inequalities and improving public health that runs from central government down to the individual citizen. This is certainly a serious and considered contribution to the health debate in this country."
