Dr David Colin-Thome, the Department of Health's National Clinical Director for Primary Care, is the keynote speaker at a major primary care conference this Thursday (April 28).
He will address delegates at the NHS Confederation conference which is being held at the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in London.
Primary care is becoming ever more complex with an increasing range of models of commissioning and a growing number of service providers from the independent, private and voluntary sectors.
Those working in primary care trusts face a major shift from delivering services to co-ordinating the delivery of care.
A series of interactive workshops on primary care 'hot topics' will introduce practical tools for working with new partnership and contracting arrangements and new government frameworks.

John Bewick, NHS Confederation Policy Adviser, will launch the conference with a plenary session at 10am, workshops will run from 10.30am to 3.45pm, and David Colin-Thome will deliver his keynote address at 4pm.
