Press release: Mountaineering legend Chris Bonington to challenge NHS leaders to trust in the talent and initiative of employees

Mountaineering legend Sir Chris Bonington will this week urge up to 200 senior figures in the NHS in Scotland to place their trust in the initiative and talent of their employees to achieve their objectives.
Mr Bonington, who will be opening the first annual conference of the Scottish NHS Confederation in Carnoustie, will draw parallels between the experiences of his long and varied career and the day to day management and organisational challenges faced by NHS leaders.
Unveiling the conference programme the organisers have also confirmed that Malcolm Chisholm MSP, the Minister for Health and Community Care, will give the closing address. Other speakers include Sir David Carter, former Chief Medical Officer for Scotland, Hilary Mounfield, Chief Executive of Epilepsy Scotland, Professor Sir Graeme Catto, President of the General Medical Council and Canon Kenyon Wright. The event will be chaired by Alf Young, Policy Editor of the Herald.
