Press release: NHS Confederation welcomes publication of new national standards for children's hospital services
10 Apr 2003
The NHS Confederation today welcomed the publication of the new national standards for children's hospitals. Dr Gill Morgan, Chief Executive of the NHS Confederation stated: "We warmly welcome these new national standards for children's hospital services. Children's care has for too long been overshadowed and these national standards will ensure that children's needs are placed at the top of the agenda."
Dr Morgan commented: "If these national standards are to make a real difference they need to be backed up by a common vision for children across all local public agencies. This is why we have joined forces with other statutory and voluntary organisations to promote new local partnerships that will really improve the lives of children. We now look forward to the rest of the framework and new ways of working across local agencies that genuinely put children first."
