Press release: The Scottish NHS Confederation welcomes Audit Scotland's report on hospital staffing

The Scottish NHS Confederation has today welcomed Audit Scotland's report on hospital staffing.
Director, Hilary Roberston said: " We welcome this report and the recommendations that have been made to maximise the skills and resources available to the NHS. In particular we welcome the emphasis placed on workforce planning and the scope to improve information to assist managers in using nursing resources effectively. Effective workforce planning is key to modernising the NHS and delivering patient care at the highest standard. Workforce planning mechanisms have been lacking in NHS Scotland in the past and we welcome recent steps taken by the Health Minister to remedy this."
