The NHS Confederation, the Labour Group of the LGA and the Improvement & Development Agency are running a learning simulation entitled 'Healthy Partners? A Health and Local Government Partnership' on Saturday 17 February at the Labour Party Local Government Conference in Glasgow.
The simulation will work through the health scenario for 'Gotham City Council' with NHS and local government chief executives playing their respective roles. As well as being entertaining and informative this will be the first practical test run of the government's scrutiny proposals, and should provide an invaluable insight into the ways that these partnerships might operate.
The NHS Confederation believes that the government's proposals are an important contribution to a more patient centred and locally accountable NHS. This simulation is a part of an ongoing contribution to a positive approach to overview and scrutiny amongst NHS organisations and local authorities.
