Involving patients to improve the quality of care

This session will explore different methods of engaging patients to improve quality of care. Health Dialog will provide delegates with an understanding of the role of health coaching and the importance of information in shared decision making. Delegates will also hear about a CSIP initiative where service users, carers and service providers learn in partnership to apply service improvement techniques together at Surrey University. The session will also help delegates better understand how involving patients can be used to improve outcomes and reduce costs.

Improving patient safety

This session will explore the key issues in patient safety including how the National Patient Safety Campaign can support cultural change and improve patient safety.

Delivering compassionate care

How do we ensure the basics of care are not neglected? To optimise patient's experience of compassionate care there needs to be engagement across the whole healthcare system. Learning from the Point of Care project aims to help leaders consider how to ensure the quality and humanity of care is everybody's business.
