Consultations

To successfully influence policy we represent members' views, promote leading-edge thinking and good practice and shape the public debate. We publicise information about consultations we are looking for members' input on in our weekly Interchange Alert bulletin. See below information about consultations we are looking to respond to, along with details of how to get involved.

National framework to assess children's continuing care

The Department of Health is consulting on its plans to develop a national framework to assess children and young people's continuing care. The framework follows the Government's promise to guide practitioners with a tool that addresses the specific needs of children and takes into account other factors such as education. We are keen to hear members' views to inform our response. Read our summary of the consultation which sets out the main points. Please forward your comments to patricia.suarez@nhsconfed.org by 5 December 2008.

Communities in Control

The Department for Communities and Local Government (CLG) is consulting on its plans to enhance local accountability. CLG is seeking views on the implementation of provisions contained within the 2007 Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act that relate to councils' powers to scrutinise Local Area Agreement (LAA) partners and to the delivery of LAA targets. We will be responding on behalf of members and are keen to hear your views. Please forward your comments to sam.hunt@nhsconfed.org by Tuesday 21 October.

Read the consultation document on the CLG website.
