Flowers against the sky

As the independent membership body for the full range of organisations that make up today's NHS, the Confederation meets both the distinct needs of parts of the NHS and their collective needs:

  • We provide a collective voice and services for all types of NHS organisations.
  • NHS Employers represents trusts in England on workforce issues.
  • Our networks focus on meeting the specific needs of foundation trusts, PCTs, ambulance trusts, independent providers and mental health trusts.

We aim to be the authoritative voice in the policy debate on all NHS issues.

To do this in 2008 we will:

  • Create a debate on major future issues through a series of debate papers in the run up to our annual conference in June 2008.
  • Produce a campaign moving towards the next general election to influence the development of health policy.
  • Deliver a programme of work to improve the reputation of NHS management.
  • Introduce a system for supporting our members in their relationships with MPs and to increase the effectiveness of our campaigns.
