We provide our members with a strong influencing voice in Government, parliament and the media, and ensure that they are kept up-to-date with the changing agenda.

Our members also benefit from:

  • invitations to special events, meetings and receptions with key speakers and guests from within the healthcare sector
  • direct involvement in policy development through high-level Department of Health groups and meetings with ministers
  • access to the combined knowledge and expertise of the NHS Confederation and its other networks
  • recognition by and engagement with all main political parties at senior level
  • ability to network and share knowledge with other major NHS organisations, both independent and public sector
  • good contacts with the media to facilitate presentation of the role of the independent sector within the NHS
  • direct access to and dialogue with key health sector regulators
  • regular meetings of the full membership, sub-groups and formal annual general meeting.

Our members

Membership to the network is open to independent sector providers who provide patient care services at primary, secondary or acute level, including diagnostic services.

NHSPN members must also be a prime contractor to an NHS commissioning body.
