We enable members to share information and experience through:
Events and meetings. The Confederation runs over 200 events a year, ranging from our high-profile annual conference and exhibition, to one-day conferences and meetings on specific areas such as long-term conditions or mental health. We have a comprehensive programme of regional and national membership meetings, and policy development seminars. There are also annual conferences and meetings for members in Wales and Northern Ireland.
Keeping members informed. We make sure our members are regularly updated on current 'hot topics' as well as kept abreast of the NHS Confederation's influencing programme. Mechanisms for keeping members informed include:
- emailed daily press summaries and weekly Interchange Alert
- policy networks giving electronic updates on specific policy issues
- our website, which offers updates on our work and a publications archive.
Publishing. Our extensive publishing programme produces:
- briefing and consultation papers offering easy-to-digest summaries of policy developments
- reports and detailed discussion documents
- our popular pocket guide to the NHS
- background briefings giving a jargon-free view of managerial and clinical issues.
Information sharing. We run several schemes to help members learn from each other and from those working alongside the NHS:
- the Future Healthcare Network for organisations investing for 2010 and beyond
- a London relations programme for NHS organisations in London
- a commercial associate scheme for companies engaged with the NHS
- the Insight subscription service for not-for-profit organizations interested in the NHS
- the Health Services Research Network to give a collective voice to the research community
