NHS Partners Network comments on Hinchingbrooke Health Care NHS Trust announcement

10/11/2011
David Worskett says agreement will enable the hospital to maintain its services and continue providing essential care for the local population.

David Worskett, director of the NHS Partners Network, said:

“Following today’s announcement we are absolutely delighted that Circle have been awarded the contract to manage Hinchingbrooke Health Care NHS Trust.

“Circle’s innovative approach to healthcare combined with the commitment of Hinchingbrooke’s NHS staff will enable the hospital to maintain its services and continue providing essential care for the local population.

“This is a good example of how the NHS can harness the skill and innovation that exists within the independent sector to ensure district general hospitals are able to deliver quality services for patients as well as value for money for the taxpayer.

“We hope there will be more examples of effective partnerships with the independent sector in future although a more streamlined tendering process will be needed to prevent the delays and uncertainty that surrounded this process.”
