PCT Network and NHS Employers jointly hosted this event that provided an excellent opportunity for delegates to debate what PCTs want from general practice and pharmacy services of the future.
The aim of the event was to inform NHS Employers negotiation of primary care contracts. Over 20 delegates from PCTs across the country and the NHS Employers negotiating teams debated PCTs’ overall objectives for primary care and what the current policy and implementation barriers are to achieving those objectives. The seminar concluded with a discussion of how to overcome these barriers.
The next step following this seminar is for the output taken from it to go to the PCT Network board and the NHS Employers Policy board for endorsement and agreement of future actions.
