PCT Functions and duties – managing the transition

14/12/2010
Following a successful meeting on 24 November, the PCT Network has produced a new paper, 'PCT Functions and duties – managing the transition'.

Ward StaffThe PCT network held a second meeting to consider the future of PCT functions on 24 November 2010. Participants included network members as well as GP and local authority colleagues. The group discussed the implications of the proposed transfer of PCT responsibilities to other organisations over the next two years, and identified challenges and opportunities associated with this. A new document  PCT Functions and duties – managing the transition summarises the outcomes of these discussions and the next steps the Network will be taking. Download the document.

This was the second in a series of meetings exploring the future of PCT functions and duties. The first, which took place in August 2010, led to the creation and circulation of a document listing the main statutory and operational responsibilities of PCTs as identified by the Department of Health and participants at the event, which can be found here.
