PCT Network Provider Forum survey

PCT Network’s Provider Services Forum undertook a survey to ascertain the effects of recent policy changes around provider services.

PCT provider services leads were asked to complete an online survey indicating whether or not they had agreement on their future organisational form, and if not what they anticipated the outcome would be.

David Stout, PCT Network director, presented the findings at the PCT Network conference, 'community services: the future of healthcare' in October. You can read David's presentation at that conference here.

Providers services steering group meeting

The provider services steering group met on 9 September in London. The meeting was chaired by Matthew Winn, managing director of Cambridgeshire Community Services. 

The group agreed the format for the survey of PCT provider services. This has now been completed. The results of this survey can be found here.

Joe Gannon, programme director of the Department of Health Transforming Community Services (TCS) programme gave an update on this work programme. The TCS programme will be focusing on the following issues:

• Services – with  the focus on quality
• Leadership development
• Productivity - QIPP (Quality, Innovation, Productivity and Prevention)
• Commissioning and procurement

It was agreed that a confidential forum for PCT Provider Services chairs will be held on 28 January 2010.  More information on this forum will be available on the PCT Network website very soon.

Regional leads

Regional leads have been appointed and form the steering group for the work programme.
