The draft guidance aims to describe how clinical commissioners can make decisions in a way that demonstrates good stewardship of public money at the same time as:
- ensuring safety
- improving quality
- securing best outcomes for patients.
The document has been shared with CCGs, primary care organisations, local authorities and third sector organisations via SHA and PCT clusters.
While the DH is not undertaking a formal consultation, the NHS Confederation plans to give feedback on members' behalf so please let us know if you have any comments.
