Vertical Integration Seminar, 6 July, The Bloomsbury Hotel, London

The Mental Health Network and Primary Care Trust Network ran a joint seminar exploring vertical integration and the organisational options available to support its implementation. The session gave members the opportunity to hear from leaders  involved in different approaches, discuss key challenges and share emerging best practise.

The outputs from the seminar will help the confederation develop a programme of work to support members.

The Future of Regulation Seminar, 14 June, RIBA, London

Members of the network met to discuss the current impact of regulation on their services and how this system should develop in order to influence and shape any new government policies on regulation.

The aim of the seminar was to provide an opportunity to review where we are with the current system particularly the CQC registration process but  also including other oversight bodies such as the NHS Litigation Authority and Monitor.
Feedback from this session will also contribute to development of the NHS Confederation’s overarching position on the future regulation of the NHS. The NHS Confederation plans to hold a ‘round table’ discussion on regulation in  August 2010 , bringing together the perspectives of all the different parts of the NHS, including mental health services.

For more information on the NHS  Confederations work on regulation visit our regulation pages.

A summary of the discussion will be available shortly.
