The day began with a welcome and opening remarks from Shaun Clee, Chair of the Mental Health Network, and Steve Shrubb, Director, Mental Health Network, before an open information exchange took place between members discussing current issues.
Catherine Mitchell and Rachel Mayman from Mental Health Strategies then presented and discussed a state of readiness review of mental health PbR before Michael Parsonage and Matt Fossey, from the Centre for Mental Health, presented an economic analysis of Birmingham's RAID liaison model.
Following lunch, Professor Len Bowers from the Institute of Psychiatry provided an update on research into patient care before Kevin Lewis, an independent consultant, discussed personal health budgets, looking at whether mental health is ready to adopt them and the lessons we have learned from initial work.
