Parliamentary debate on mental health to take place

11/06/2012
On Thursday 14 June a parliamentary debate on mental health will take place in the main chamber.

The Mental Health Network welcomes the full commons debate on mental health services that is to take place on Thursday 14 June.

Almost one in five people in the UK have a recognisable common mental disorder - a rise from just over one in seven in 1993. With the NHS beginning to implement the mental health strategy and broader NHS reforms, this debate is both timely and important.

Ahead of the debate, the MHN has produced a briefing for MP’s that covers:

  • Implementing the mental health strategy
  • Strategic priorities for mental health services in the coming years
  • Working with other services to prevent and address mental ill health

To find out more, please download the briefing.
