Mental Health Network Logo

The NHS Confederation and the National Mental Health Development Unit have established a strategic partnership to help support the implementation of New Horizons in 2010/11 within local mental health systems.

The key aim of the partnership is to translate high level policy into practical outcomes and in turn to influence mental health policy to ensure that it is in line with best practice and the realities of wider system reform.

This work will be focused on a number of major projects including:

• changing organisational culture  to promote recovery
• embedding the Acute Care Declaration
• delivering the QIPP agenda in mental health

We are looking for experienced and innovative individuals to work with us on a part-time basis in one or more of these areas. It is likely you will have already held Director level post for some years and will be able to work with Board level colleagues across the NHS, Local Authority and third sector organisations to facilitate change and disseminate learning from other areas. You must be able to work confidently with specialists in these areas from policy, clinical and research backgrounds to ensure that the project outcomes can be readily applied by mental health commissioners and providers within local mental health systems.

A small number of posts are available on a flexible secondment or fixed-term contract basis to support the delivery of this work.
