Payment by Results in Mental Health: A review of the international economic assessment of the Care Pathways Approach 

This report commissioned for the Department of Health by the University of Leeds looks at mental health funding in other countries. It examines the international literature on payment mechanisms for mental healthcare services, drawing on relevant theoretical and empirical research to explore the strengths and weaknesses of payment mechanisms. Implications for the proposed Integrated Packages Approach to Care are explored and recommendations are outlined.
