NHS Choices has long provided web-based feedback. Now mental health trusts will get a similar service as Patient Opinion rolls out its Department of Health funded service supported by the Mental Health Network, all postings are re-published on NHS Choices. Training events across the country begin in September.
Patient Opinion is a social enterprise that runs a website where any one can share stories of their care. During 2007/08 it piloted this service for services users, carers and staff. Now Patient Opinion has agreed with the Department of Health and NHS Choices to provide its mental health feedback platform for mental health service users across England. This service is free to the public and to Trusts and carries no advertising. Patient Opinion has been commissioned by NHS Choices to provide a training and support programme to Mental Health Trusts for two years starting March 09 to help them get the maximum value from this new form of user involvement.
