NICE Quality standards for depression – consultation on first draft

25/08/2010
NICE has been commissioned by the Department of Health to produce quality standards to clarify what high quality care looks like across specific diseases and conditions

The first draft of the quality standard for depression can be downloaded from the NICE website, along with a comments form, questions to guide your considerations and a link to the background development papers and evidence sources:

The aim of consultation is to seek comments from a broad range of stakeholders and audiences (providers, healthcare professionals and commissioners) about the format and presentation, seek views on equality issues, and explore the validity of their content.

NICE are also keen for organisations to field test the draft quality standards and further information is available on the NICE website.

The consultation period is from 2 August 2010 to 13th September . The September date  is also the deadline for submission of your feedback to NICE.

To contribute to the Mental Health Network response please forward your views to claire.mallett@nhsconfed.org by 7 September.  We would also be pleased to receive copies of your  individual submissions to NICE.
