This included meetings with Jim Easton, NHS National Director for Improvement and Efficiency, Bruce Calderwood, Director of Mental Health, plus others in the DH Mental Health Policy Team, Andy McKeon and Catherine Mitchell of the Audit Commission, a number of SHA leads, and with our colleagues in the PCT Network. As a result of those meetings, the MHN has developed a framework document which has garnered support from our national partners.
It sets out a shared vision for QIPP in mental health and agreed areas for focussed work. That document, and further details of our work programme on QIPP, will be made available shortly. For more information on our work on this area, or if you have case study examples you would like to share with others, particularly of where local redesign has made improvements to quality and efficiency, please contact Rebecca Cotton, Policy Manager, at rebecca.cotton@nhsconfed.org.
