Citizenship in Health: Self Direction Theory into Practice

21/08/2009
Staying In Control, one of the Department's strategic partners, has recently published a draft discussion document called Citizenship in Health: Self Direction Theory into Practice.

In Control is a charity that believes in the innate dignity of all human beings and the vital importance of everyone being able to play their full part in the community as active citizens.

In 2008, In Control began to extend its work into health, education and employment. In particular, In Control launched its Staying In Control membership programme for

National Health Service (NHS) organisations. 37 organisations, mostly Primary Care

Trusts (PCTs) joined the programme alongside their local authority partners in the spring of 2008.

This discussion paper provides an overview of the work of In Control and its members over the last 12 months. Staying In Control would also welcome any contributions and comments prior to its publication in the Autumn:  email Rita rita.brewis@in-control.org.uk
