Achieving Age Equality in Health and Social Care report published

28/10/2009
The Age Discrimination review team have published a report on Achieving Age Equality in Health and Social Care.

The team, set up Sir Ian Carruthers and Jan Ormondroyd were asked by the secretary of state to look at what health and social care organisations should do to meet the ban on age discrimination and the new public sector equality duty in the Equality Bill, in order to ensure that people are not discriminated against because of their age when using services.

The review considered evidence from the national and regional advisory  groups on age  discrimination, academic research, personal testimony, the conclusions from eleven engagement events and the submissions to its call for evidence.
