CALL FOR ABSTRACTS and Prizes

The premier forum for all the different disciplines and professions of health services research announces its 2010 call for abstracts.

CALL NOW CLOSED

We have had a terrific response to our call. Abstracts are now undergoing peer review and successful applications will be included in sessions with distinct themes.

Authors will be advised in writing of acceptance or non-acceptance of abstracts by March 2009.  Accepted abstracts will be published on line. 

All presenting authors will have to register and pay for thier attendance at the conference- £129 for two days, £89 for one.

The meeting provides opportunities to present and hear about rigorous, cutting-edge research and policy analysis, to debate health care policies and to network with leaders in the field.

The meeting aims to cover the breadth of health services research and health care policy including:

  • Provision and management of health care
  • Funding health care and paying providers
  • Purchasing and commissioning health care
  • Workforce and human resource management
  • Evaluating health technologies 
  • Evaluating service delivery
  • Organisational research
  • Quality improvement
  • Regulation of health services
  • Information and IT policy
  • Coverage, access and equity of use
  • Patient/user experiences and views
  • Knowledge transfer and linkage
  • Methodological concerns              

The HSRN’s interest in each and every area extends:

  • From quantitative to qualitative research
  • Across all health care professions including nursing, pharmacy, medicine, management, physiotherapy, midwifery
  • Across all relevant disciplines including sociology, economics, epidemiology, health policy, statistics, psychology, history
  • Across all aspects of services including primary care, community care, social care, hospital care
  • From health promotion and disease prevention, through curative services to long-term, rehabilitative and custodial care

Publication of selected papers

The authors of all papers accepted will have the opportunity of submitting them for consideration for publication in a supplement of the Journal of Health Services Research and Policy

Prizes

There is a £250 for best research presentation and a £150 prize for best poster.

ABSTRACTS

Abstracts must conform to the following requirements and authors must indicate if they wish to submit it for oral presentation and/or poster display:

  • Include a short title (up to 20 words) and the author’s names (asterisk the presenting author)
  • Maximum length: 250 words
  • Structured: background/objectives, methods, results, implications
  • Include presenting author’s contact details including institution, address, email, telephone and fax.
  • Submit your abstract. A template for submission is included at the site.
  • Closing date: 14 January 2010.
