Provision of NHS 111 through local NHS ambulance trusts

27/07/2011
NHS 111 will provide a new, easy to remember route into the NHS for the public who are unclear about which services for unplanned healthcare is best to meet their needs.

Supporting discussions with commissioners and politicians

call centreIn the lead up to the NHS111 procurement process, the Ambulance Service Network (ASN) has produced a short summary document that can be used by members when talking to local commissioners and politicians about the readiness of the ambulance service to bid for tenders and deliver this important new service. The document can be amended on the final page to add information about the local ambulance service approach to the NHS111 procurement process.

This summary will be followed by a more technical document being developed through the DOCCs group, available by the end of July, which can be used in more detailed conversations with commissioners.
