Government’s response to NHS Future Forum report - key issues for the ambulance service

Following publication of the NHS Future Forum’s report on 13 June, the Government set out its response to the Forum accepting the core recommendations of the report and listing the key changes it intends to make to improve its NHS modernisation plans.

During April and May 2011, the Government announced a pause to take stock of the Health and Social Care Bill and make modifications to improve the overall impact of the health and social care reforms.

In consultation with its members, the Ambulance Service Network (ASN) submitted a response to the NHS Future Forum which had been tasked with leading the NHS listening exercise on the Government’s proposed NHS reform in England.

The ASN’s response set out a list of key issues for ASN members focusing on areas relating to the commissioning of some services provided by ambulance services and the application of Any Qualified Provider.
